Each class year had it's own common area where they would congregate during breaks. Between classes this area was thronged with people on their way to, or leaving one of the four classes that opened onto it. Possibly 240 people going by in 3 minutes - so it was a lot like a toyshop on Christmas Eve. And then half an hour of total peace. Their lockers are down each side of the space and there was always a huge heap of schoolbags in the middle of the room. I had a devil of a job getting them to leave them alone when I began to paint them in.

“I was sitting on the bench in the Third Year area having my lunch.  Unknown to me, I was being painted by Blaise!  He got me to freeze on the bench. I was delighted to be part of a painting.

I really enjoyed watching him do his work. I think having an artist like Blaise in the school was a great way of documenting events that take place in Presentation College throughout the year.”
